Why it matters

Explorer 3.5L Ti-VCT coils are not a single SKU across the generation. Ford revised the coil and connector around mid-2015 production. Order by door-jamb build date, not model year alone — a 2015 can be either side of the fence. If the sticker is gone, compare the connector shape and boot length on the old coil before you click Buy. Wrong coil = misfire, wasted money, and a second shipping fee.
